Let me introduce myself, my name is Amee Cherry and
I will be assisting Mrs. Schimm this year.
Last year I volunteered as a literacy mentor in room 6,
so I am familiar with some of the children in our class this year. I have my Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and I truly love spending my days surrounded by children.
A little bit about myself: I moved from Minnesota to
Michigan 21 years ago and now consider this my home.
My husband and I will celebrate our 20th anniversary this fall
and we have a son, 19, and a daughter, 16. Our family joy is
our English Golden Retriever Bailey. The outdoors is my favorite
place to be; whether it be a bonfire or a backyard barbecue,
a walk in the park, or a trip to the lake.
I enjoy helping families in the community; I have volunteered
with Arts n Scraps, Beyond Basics, Gleaners Food Bank, and the
Read to Me Program through Child’s Hope. It is so important to show
children how they can contribute to their community and I love doing
art with recycled items. This was one event I collaborated with Arts
n Scraps. I look forward to getting to know you and your children
better and help them on their journey in exploring the world around them.
