My name is Toni Addington. I started working here at the ECEC in September 2018. This is going on my 12th year of teaching, previously I worked at Big Steps, Little Feet Christian Child Care Center and Milestones CDC. When I started working in child care it was back when I was in college working as an afternoon aid, then assistant teacher, and a lead teacher. For the majority of my career I've been a lead teacher for preschoolers. I absolutely love children!! Coming to the ECEC at the University of Michigan has been amazing. I've learned so much already and can't wait to grow with Mrs. Schimm and your child. I went to college at Grand Rapids Community College and earned my Associates of Arts degree in 2005.
I have lived in the greater Grand Rapids area all my life. My daughter and I just moved here at the end of August. Reese is 12 years old and in 6th grade!! She loves to sing and soaks in any information about history and has recently started watching a TV show where people go on expeditions. Her and I love to go explore new things!! My hobbies are going to the beach to collect seashells/starfish/sand dollars etc, going to the Tigers and the Whitecaps baseball games, trying new food, playing beach volleyball, listening/singing to music, and I love helping rehabilitate animals when they are in need.
I can't express how excited I am to be here at the ECEC!! I'm looking forward to building relationships with you and your child!! This is a great opportunity for me to grow my career and meet new people and I couldn't be more thankful.
